Adventure Park Insider — February 1, 2015 — Edelrid’s Smart Belay system received an Outdoor Industry Award in 2009 for its innovative design that prevented carabiners from opening simultaneously. Now comes the Pilot Bar, which improves the Smart Belay by giving directional control to the user. The Pilot Bar attaches to the lanyard of the belay and acts as a “steering” handle for the rider.
