Blue Heron Zipline Adventure, located partly in Columbus, Ga., and partly in Phenix City, Ala., has expanded its zip line canopy tour. Blue Heron is already a noted operation for offering a zip tour that crosses state lines. Participants begin with the existing zip on the Georgia bank of the Chattahoochee River and zip across to Phenix City.
The canopy tour addition, designed and installed by Signature Research, takes participants through a series of four bridges and three short zip lines that crisscross through the canopy of the Phenix City greenway. Riders then take a 400-foot zip that starts 45 feet up a 100-year-old oak tree, directly over a pedestrian bridge, ending at a landing platform. The landing platform is part of the brand new 55-foot launch tower that sends participants down the 800-foot-long dual zips back across the Chattahoochee River.
Blue Heron Adventure is part of Whitewater Express Outfitters, a river rafting operation with four locations in Georgia and Alabama.
