Colorado’s Aspen Skiing Co. has secured final approval to build an ambitious summer adventure center at Snowmass ski area. The Lost Forest Adventure Center, located at the resort’s mid-mountain Elk Camp, will include everything from a year-round alpine coaster and aerial adventures to an expanded trail network for hiking and biking. All can be accessed by the Elk Camp gondola from the Snowmass base area.

The expanded mountain biking at Snowmass’ new summer operation
Snowmass received Forest Service approval for a guided zip tour with eight zip lines and two sky bridges, a treetop aerial adventure course with five separate courses, and a 60-foot wide, 40-foot tall climbing wall with up to 15 lanes equipped with auto-belay devices.
The alpine coaster, which will be called the Breathtaker Coaster, travels a 5,700-foot track, covering 410 vertical feet as it winds through the trees. The coaster is scheduled to open in December, operating year-round, and have lights for night operations.
