INTELLIGENT DISTANCE CONTROL ASSIST

Adventure Park Insider — April 16, 2015 — Wiegand Sports is now equipping all its Alpine Coasters with Intelligent Distance Control Assist. This system utilizes proven eddy current technology to provide a smooth braking process during three aspects of the ride. 1. For top speed control, the system provides speed monitoring on each sled, so that the top speed does not exceed 26 mph. 2. For Distance control, the system monitors the distance between sleds, so that if one sled gets too close to another, the eddy-current braking system automatically keeps the trailing sled from getting closer to the preceding sled. 3. For end-of-track braking, the system governs the speed of the sled as it enters the end-of-track zone, and slows the sled smoothly to a walking speed.
