DIGITAL TIMES    We have a simple goal at Adventure Park Insider: to inform adventure park operators about trends, best practices, and products, and to inspire you to be as successful as possible.

In a young and fast-growing industry like this, it can be a challenge to keep up with the pace of change. There are new products, evolving consumer preferences and needs, new business models to consider, and a rapidly changing regulatory environment.

We have covered a variety of these topics in this issue. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned in the past 18 months, it’s that our print editions of the magazine, by themselves, cannot cover the gamut. So we have strived to make our website, adventureparkinsider.com, complement and supplement our print reporting.

Adventureparkinsider.com will play an especially important role over the next several months, as our next print edition will appear in early fall. Between now and then, we will switch our focus to digital media.

We are doing this because it suits your business cycle. Once you begin training staff and ramping up for the summer season, you have less time to sit back and read a magazine. We get that. So we’ve made our digital communications easy to access on everything from smartphones and tablets to laptops and desktops. Additionally, online communications allows us to deliver information and news in the most timely manner, and to make our content available to your army of employees. Our bi-weekly newsletter, Park Beat, provides a digest of the latest happenings (you can subscribe, for free, at adventureparkinsider.com) to help you stay current.

Adventure Park Insider also aims to be practical. We try to keep our online reporting brief and to the point. We focus on news that’s relevant to your operations and on information you can use and apply—from management and training techniques and tips, to marketing and programming ideas. Watch for articles on training your in-house trainers, how attachments impact tree health, hybrid business models, and zip line design (among others).

We also pay close attention to the twists and turns of the regulatory and standards environment. These include the adoption of the new ANSI/ACCT 3-2016 standard, updates and additions to the ASTM F2959 standard, and the growing involvement of state legislatures and regulators. We’ll also relay news about the role state associations and other industry groups are playing in these developments.

You have a role to play in this, as well. All of our online reporting allows you to comment on articles and add your point of view. That can be extremely valuable to your colleagues. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity!

So, as you get busy over the next few months, remember that adventureparkinsider.com will be your industry news and information source. We’ll make it easy to stay up to date on what’s happening in the business and to share your experiences. We hope you can capitalize on our content. That’s our purpose.

Share.
