Hidden Valley Gets Final Go-Ahead for Zip Line

Hidden Valley Ski Resort in Wildwood, Mo., has been given the green light to start construction on a new zip line attraction at the resort. Construction on the project, which has been a source of contention over the past year and a half, is expected to start in spring 2019.

The attraction will have four separate racing spans that run across the Hidden Valley resort property. The lines have a maximum height of 150 to 170 feet off the ground.

“On behalf of the team at Hidden Valley Ski Resort and Peak Resorts, we are excited to add this unique amenity, which will greatly enhance our facility during the spring, summer, and fall months,” said Greg Gavrilets, general manager. “The addition of the ZipTour will be a welcome complement to our existing skiing, riding, and tubing operations, and we look forward to serving the local and regional community for years to come with our broad array of outdoor adventures.”

This final approval is the result of a refiling of the conditional use permit with concessions by Hidden Valley to local homeowners: the resort will not add lighting or a public address system to its facilities.
