Hundreds of outfitters, suppliers, adventure-business operators, and speakers from all over the country descended on Salt Lake City, Utah, for the 2019 America Outdoors Conference, Dec. 9-12, 2019.
Attendees gathered to learn from outdoor industry experts on topics ranging from marketing and risk management to legislation, business operations, and leadership. The event featured more than 25 workshops and learning sessions in addition to a variety of meet-ups including regional meet-ups, manager’s meet-up, and sessions specifically for women in outdoor recreation, including a full-day retreat session on igniting innovation.
Adventure Park Insider research editor, Sarah Borodaeff, took part in the Media Match, a session in which operators were walked through how to pitch and land media hits and given an opportunity to practice pitching stories to members of the media there representing various outlets including Adventure Park Insider, blogs, national magazines, as well as freelance writers.
The highlight of activity was the tradeshow, which was a lively affair complete with a live ban. The space was filled with suppliers and vendors sharing their products and services. Many attendees commented on the meaningful conversations they had during the event.
