Allegan Event Z!p will be hosting its grand opening celebration on Saturday, June 10 during the annual Allegan, Mich., city Bridgefest. The CTS zip line was designed and constructed by Allegan-based Ropes Courses, Inc.
“We’re thrilled to bring adventure to our city that will entice people from all over the state to check out Allegan,” said Jim Liggett, owner of Ropes Courses, Inc. “This attraction was long overdue and the buzz of activity here will be very exciting to witness.”
The zip attraction is a total of 1,200 feet long across two lines over the Kalamazoo River. Participants climb the main structure on the north bank of the river and zip across a 600-foot line, 55 feet above the water, to the platform on the south bank of the river. They then zip back across the river to the north bank.
Participants can either descend the stairs on foot or, for a bit more adrenaline, take the QUICKjump free-fall from 55 feet back to the ground.
