Mountain Adventure Resort, a new adventure park in Branson, Mo., has selected the ADG Mountain Coaster as its opening attraction scheduled to debut this summer.

The first downhill mountain coaster to be built in the Ozarks, the ride will take advantage of the sloped topography of the 80-acre plot along Highway 165.

“You can use a 15-percent sloped property and not have dramatic impact on [the environment],“ said developer Mark Ruda, “so it’s kind of a win-win.”

Participants will begin with a scenic ride up the mountainside on the full back, open-air style carts. After reaching the top, riders will zigzag down the 5,000-foot custom-designed track, covering 350 vertical feet at speeds of 25-30 mph.

While participants can control the cart’s speed, ADG’s patented collision avoidance system and automatic speed restrictors ensure riders safety.

Mountain Adventure Resort is slated to open this summer and has plans to expand its activity offerings over the next 3-5 years.
