The Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) will offer inspector certification exams, as well as a prep course for the exams, in conjunction with its 26th Annual International Conference and Expo Jan. 28-31, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa in Lost Pines, Texas.

Advance registration is required to take any of the exams and participate in the prep course. Participants registering for inspector certification exams must also submit an application and all of the appropriate eligibility documents.

ACCT currently offers two categories of inspector certification, with two levels for each category:

In-House Inspector, Level 1 or Level 2 Certification

This certification is designed for those individuals who perform operational inspections for their own organization as described in Chapter 1 Section B.1.3 of the ACCT Standards, 8th Edition.

Professional Inspector, Level 1 or Level 2 Certification

This certification is designed for the individual working for a legally licensed business that is properly insured to offer professional (third party) inspections as described in Chapter 1 Section B.1.2 of the ACCT Standards, 8th Edition.

Supervisor Endorsement (In-House or Professional)

An applicant in a supervisory role, either in-house or professional, can also apply for the Supervisor Endorsement. The applicant must meet the requirements for Level 1or Level 2 certification based on the level of inspectors that he/she supervises. This is an additional exam taken immediately after completing the respective Level 1 and Level 2 exam(s) for in-house or professional certification.

The prep course will be held on Jan. 28, 2016, to assist applicants in preparation for the exams. This course will review materials and discuss questions pertaining to inspection knowledge and skills. The course is recommended but not required.

All exams will be conducted on Jan. 31, 2016.

Applicants must complete an eligibility file to be approved by the ACCT Inspector Certification Committee. No applicant will be allowed to sit for the certification exam(s) without an approved file. There is no walk-in option for this testing. All applications and registration documents are due no later than Dec. 15, 2015.
