Quarry Park Adventures in Rocklin, Calif., celebrated its grand opening Oct. 13 after months of financial and construction delays. “The granite, it’s nothing but 70 feet of granite they had to build in,” said David Busch, president of Quarry Park Adventures. “It took much longer than any of us anticipated, but it truly is worth it.”
Originally set to open in June 2018, the park is located in and around a 60-foot-deep, 160-year-old granite quarry. The 5-and-a-half-acre park comprises several different activities: a three-story aerial adventure course with more than 60 unique elements, a netted children’s area with 30 challenges such as climbing nets, zip lines, balance beams, a forty-nine foot free fall, and a via ferrata experience up the quarry walls, as well as paddle and rowboat rentals on Quinn Lake. The Roundhouse, a public market with food and beverages and gift shop, is still under construction but is scheduled to open before the summer 2019 season.
The park will operate Friday-Sunday during the fall, winter, and spring, and seven days a week in summer.
