Multi-Activity Adventure Park to Open in London

Gripped London, a new adventure park with activities for ages 4 and up, is scheduled to open July 11 in Hounslow, West London. It is part of a 126-acre “leisure development” that includes other family-friendly attractions, such as Hobbledown Heath, an activity park with four themed villages, play structures, animals, and more.

“Gripped fuses adrenaline with towering treetops, daring heights and exhilarating speeds, and is our unique take on an extreme aerial adventure attraction suitable for adults and children,” said Gripped co-founder Richard Farley.

The new attraction will feature a variety of adventure options. Two high-ropes courses with varying levels of difficulty and a netted adventure park for kids ages 4 and up will be ready for opening day.

Among the other activities opening soon are a pair of “speed slides,” each about 150 feet long and 60 feet high. One is a straight drop and the other is a spiral. Guests ride down in a “hessian sack,” or burlap bag in North America, for protection and speed.

The park will also have zip lines, a Power Fan freefall nearly 80 feet tall, and a bag jump with four platforms ranging in height from about 10-20 feet.
