Mt. Baldy Ski Lifts in California debuted its new racing zip lines in August. The four parallel 600-foot-long Desert View Zip Racing Lines launch from the top of San Antonio Canyon, at an elevation of 7,800 feet.
Located one hour outside of Los Angeles, Mt. Baldy obtained a permit to install the attraction from the U.S. Forest Service under the Ski Area Recreational Opportunity Enhancement Act. It is the first zip line in the Angles National Forest.
The experience includes a 15-minute chairlift ride to the top of San Antonio Canyon. At the summit, participants check in at the Top of the Notch restaurant and gear up prior to going through a short safety briefing.
Also at the summit is a disc golf course, dining at Top of the Notch, and scenic hiking trails.
