Get Ready: State of the Industry Survey Coming Soon

0

The Adventure Park Insider State of the Industry Survey is coming soon. For this fourth annual edition, Adventure Park Insider and the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) are collaborating to customize the questionnaire to address different sectors of the industry—aerial parks, zip lines and tours, experiential and educational programs, and camps.

“Greater participation will increase the value and precision of the data and present a clearer overview of the entire industry,” said ACCT executive director Shawn Tierney. “Please take a moment to fill out the survey—and then sit back and reap the benefits of great knowledge when the results are in!”

Here are some of the key pieces of data to collect so you are ready when the survey launches in mid-October.

  1. Revenue: activity and ancillary sales
  2. Expenses
  3. Visitation numbers
  4. Staffing numbers and costs
  5. Marketing channels and costs
  6. Historical performance (visitation numbers from 2014-2018)
  7. Visitor demographics (age, local vs. destination guests)
  8. Operational information (brake systems, standards applied, activities offered)
  9. Insurance costs

If all of this seems like a lot, read “Metrics that Matter” for a more in-depth look at why tracking these metrics is important, and check out “What’s in a Name” for terms that will be used in the survey.

The aggregated data will be presented as a Tech Talk and as a workshop at the 2020 ACCT Conference in February.

Operators who participate in the survey will be eligible to receive a complimentary copy of the 2020 State of the Industry Report. Anyone else interested in the report’s data and analysis can purchase a digital copy online.

Help us help you by participating in the State of the Industry Survey. The data collected through the survey is aggregated, so individual respondents can never be identified. Learn more about the survey here.
