Extreme Engineering was recently awarded the Best Family Entertainment in Resort Amenities award by the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) for its Buccaneer Bay Adventure Park at Summer Bay, Orlando, Fla. The firm, billed as the world’s largest supplier of patented zip lines, climbing walls and adventure products for the amusement and resort industries, was presented the award at ARDA World 2015 held April 12-16 at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

“Buccaneer Bay gives guests the chance to ‘stay and play’ right at the resort. At Summer Bay, we created an adventure park using all of our amusement industry expertise and created an environment that transported guests to another world,” said Jeff Wilson, Extreme Engineering’s president and CEO (as well as vice chairman of ARDA’s Construction and Design Committee, and and head of the association’s Recreation and Amenities Task Force).

The park features true-to-life pirate adventures with a floating dock, bumper boats, rock climbing wall, zip line, and bungee jumping. Extreme Engineering claims to be the original creator of mobile climbing walls and auto-belay systems, and has more than 5,000 commercial customers worldwide—including Disney, Six Flags, NASA, the U.S. military, Westgate, and Marriott. The firm has been recognized with eight consecutive ARDA awards, including the Best New Product award five years in a row.
