ACCT has posted updates to its activities this spring and summer and outlined plans for fiscal 2021, which started July 1. Among them: ACCT is moving ahead with plans for the 2021 Conference in Spokane, Wash., and is set to launch the Operation Accreditation program this month.
On a happy note, ACCT executive director Shawn Tierney noted that the organization just wrapped up fiscal 2020 with a budget surplus for the fourth year in a row, and continues to build its reserve and investment accounts. ACCT also added a new health insurance option for eligible members, launched a regulatory map/blog at www.acctregmap.org, and increased its policy and regulatory efforts. The organization created a new committee for technical information, resources, and education (TIRE), and hosted a series of recorded “think tanks” with scores of individuals from across the industry focused on how to operate during the pandemic. On this latter front, ACCT has provided re-opening guidance and presented a range of resources on its website. https://www.acctinfo.org/page/coronavirus.
Looking ahead to the next 12 months, the organization has ambitious plans.
2021 Spokane Conference: After much thought, ACCT has decided to move forward with this live, in-person event. It is exploring some virtual options for individuals who will not be able to attend. Registration will open in August. Watch for details about workshops, the schedule of events, host hotels, along with health and safety protocols and guidelines for large-scale events. You can find conference information here: http://acctconference.com/
Operation Accreditation and Operation Reviewer Programs: These programs are set to launch this month. After years of development, ACCT has crafted “an exceptional credentialing program for operators that will raise the bar of performance and risk management,” Tierney predicted. Details will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
ACCT Academy: This initiative is still in its early stages. A new work group will be soliciting and vetting content such as webinars (including presenters from our conference), white papers, technical resources, and tutorials.
Strategic Planning: In 2021, the ACCT board of directors hopes to develop a multi-year strategic plan, based in part on a survey of members regarding their priorities for the future.
