Less than 11 months after starting as executive director of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT), Bill Zimmermann has resigned from his post. Zimmermann succeeded former executive director Shawn Tierney on April 4, 2022, and just completed hosting his first ACCT International Conference and Expo two weeks ago.

“We would like to inform you of Bill Zimmermann’s departure from Association for Challenge Course Technology, as Bill has resigned from his position as the executive director,” the ACCT board of directors said in a statement. “We thank Bill for his time and service, and we wish him well in his future pursuits.

“As we manage the transition, please know that we sincerely value the ACCT staff, as well as the volunteer community that helps support them. The board and staff will be directly managing the transition period. Please direct all questions to the board chair, Korey Hampton.”

The ACCT Professional Vendor Members (PVMs) were informed of Zimmermann’s resignation Tuesday. API will provide updates as further information becomes available, including when ACCT plans to begin its search for a new executive director.
