Adventureworks! to hold Ropes Course Instructor Level 2 in British Columbia

Adventureworks! Associates, Inc., will lead a 40-hour level 2 Ropes Course Instructor training and testing event April 25-29 in East Kootenay, British Columbia. Successful completion of the course, a practical skills assessment, and a written test will lead to certification as a Challenge Course Practitioner Level Two – Full.

Candidates will develop advanced leadership and facilitation skills, practice advanced knots, belaying, and descending techniques, develop problem solving skills, carry out management systems, and learn and practice the Ropes Course Rescue Protocol System. The course will utilize a combination of classroom presentations, hands-on practice, and rescue simulations. The course does not cover zip lines.

Participants must be at least 18 years old, have 200 documented hours of adventure program delivery experience as a Level 1 Challenge Course Practitioner, and have certification or documented experience with Instructor Access and three core operating systems: spotted (low); dynamic; and lanyard or zip line or rappelling. An upgrade course is available for people missing one or more of these core operating systems.

Participants are required to complete an application form and portfolio prior to registration being finalized.

The course costs CA $1,230, including meals and accommodation.
