Adventure Park Insider—Kent, Conn., June 20, 2024—A 13-year-old girl who was on a school outing was injured when she fell 20 feet from a zip line at Club Getaway in Kent, Conn., early Tuesday afternoon. The girl, who was able to communicate with rescuers, was airlifted to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, according to local news reports. As of Wednesday afternoon, her condition and the extent of her injuries were unknown.
Kent Fire Chief Alan Gawel said firefighters and EMS, as well as state police and a paramedic from Nuvance Health, were summoned at 12:21 p.m. on Tuesday. Gawel said that the girl fell not far from a takeoff platform, though the cause of the incident has not been determined.
Club Getaway calls itself a premier 300-acre lakeside adventure camp. It offers a variety of activities for adults and children.
