Petzl has issued a recall for its Scoprio Eashook lanyards with aluminum carabiners sold between January 2021 and February 2022. The carabiner’s gate automatic closing system can malfunction, posing a risk of serious injury or death to the user. No incidents or injuries have been reported as a result of the malfunction.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lanyards and contact Petzl for a full refund or free replacement, including shipping. Consumers will be provided a postage-paid label to return their recalled lanyard.
About 230 units were sold in the United States and 22 in Canada.
