Adventure Park Insider—Virginia Beach, Va., June 30, 2025—Outdoor Ventures (OV) has opened its newest and most unusual park, Owl Creek Landing, built around a unique spiral Nautilus Tower with observation deck and “the longest steel slide in America,” OV says. There’s also an expansive treetop canopy walk and a children’s treehouse playground. Walking trails and dining options are set to open soon as well. Taken together, the forested, 38-acre Owl Creek Landing gives visitors a variety of ways to experience nature.
The tower, 80 feet wide and 65 feet high, offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding forest. Access to the top is via stairs and a seven-foot wide, one-third of a mile long, ADA accessible ramp that spirals its way up the tower. For the descent, visitors can take the stairs, ramp, or slide. The one-of-a-kind slide is fully enclosed for the top third, with a glass top for the duration. Due to open soon, the slide is being built by Wiegand.
The half-mile-long Treetop Trail Canopy Walk, a wooden suspension path accessed from the tower, patrols the perimeter of the site at a maximum height of 40 feet. About 40 percent of the walk is wheelchair accessible. On the ground below, a walking path roughly follows the same route as the Canopy Walk.
The Treehouse Village play area engages kids ages 2 and up. Four unique treehouses filled with hands-on activities and connected by walkways give kids their own pathways to adventure and fun.
Owl Creek Landing is located at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, adjacent to OV’s The Adventure Park at Virginia Beach. Admission to the Landing is quite inexpensive—$28 for adults, $18 for children—with an additional cost for riding the slide, once it opens. OV will also offer a combined Adventure Park-Landing ticket as well.
