Novel Indoor Adventure Park Planned for Denver

Adventure Park Insider—Denver, May 1, 2025—A bold and expansive adventure park concept is being planned as part of a larger neighborhood development in Denver, according to an article in the Denver Business Journal. The 165,000-square-foot (roughly four acres) URWLD facility will serve up 12 to 15 adventure sports under one roof, with activities ranging from zip lines and ice climbing to surfing and scuba diving. The projected cost: more than $80 million.

Among the features are a “man-made mountain” that will create opportunities for rock climbing, bouldering, canyoneering, and spelunking, according to URWLD’s founders. The ice climbing wall is said to be the largest in America, and will consist of 305 tons of ice. It is expected to be available year-round. The zip line will fly over several of the activities and provide an aerial view.

Food and beverage operations at the center of the site will complement the physical experiences, and will be equally adventurous. “We’re pretty certain that the concepts we are going to be introducing to Denver will be concepts people will come [for]just for the food and beverage,” said co-founder Michael Norris, who serves as the British company’s chief executive officer for North America. The planned offerings range from coffee shops to casual dining and high-end concepts.

For all that, the ultimate goal for URWLD is to get people to go experience its activities, and more, outside in the natural world. URWLD says its role is to introduce people to new sports and experiences and make it easy to develop new skills and abilities.

While the Denver venue will be URWLD’s first, it won’t be the last, if all goes according to plan. URWLD has set its sights on other locations in the U.S. and abroad, from the Mideast to Southeast Asia and Australia, and says it has lined up partners for its growth plan.

That all sounds highly ambitious, but URWLD has its believers. Among them is Adeeb Khan, executive director for Denver Economic Development and Opportunity, who estimates URWLD could attract 1.2 million visitors a year. That would put it on par with the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, both of which are wildly popular in the greater Denver metro area.

URWLD is also part of the larger World Trade Center project at Fox Park, a 41-acre development that will include a hotel, office tower, and a 14-acre park, according to the Business Journal. At present, construction has begun on a parking garage, with work on the other buildings slated to begin by the end of 2025. The World Trade Center, including URWLD, is scheduled to open in late 2027 or early 2028.
