Go Ape will begin construction on a new high ropes course in Chelmsford, Essex, this spring with an anticipated opening date in July 2023. The park application to build the high ropes course on the grounds of a Grade II-listed (of special interest, warranting every effort to preserve it) Georgian house was accepted by the Chelmsford City Council planners. The park will be built in the woodland area just west of the Writtle entrance parking area.
Rose Moore, the council’s Liberal Democrat cabinet member for greener and safer Chelmsford, said: “It’s wonderful that people will be able to have new experiences in our woods and see the park from a different perspective.”
The site will include features from Go Ape’s Treetop Challenge, Treetop Adventure, and Treetop Adventure Plus courses, with a total of 100 “challenging” aerial crossings, eight zip lines, and a Tarzan swing.
